Youth means a tempera-mental predominance of courage over timidity, of theappetite for adventure over the love of ease. This often exists in a man of 60more than a boy of 20. Nobody grows old merely by a number of years. We grow oldby deserting our ideals.

When he cast them on theearth, where few more hopeless people than himself now moved towards theircertain goal—the tomb. He had already passed sixty of the stages leading to it,and he had brought from his journey nothing but errors and remorse. Now hishealth was poor, his mind vacant, his heart sorrowful, and his old age short ofcomforts.

His darkened eyes were full oftears, and with a deSPAiring effort, he burst out a cry:" Come back, my earlydays! Come back!"

I understand the directors’ intention,they want to tell people youth is not perfect and having pities. Of course movieis exaggerating, the real youth is about studying, at least, most people haveworked so hard to get into their ideal colleges. What the movies describe makeup some people’s youth, for which they don’t have the chance to experience. Weshould not be misled by these movies, for the teenagers, their job is to study,so that they can have a bright future.
